"Tegan Koster is a genuine alchemist; synthesizing and merging audio and visual mediums, idioms and formats into new, creative alloys that feel both foreign and innately familiar."

Dean Friedman

< Welcome >

< Tegan Koster >

Bold and brazen avant-synth pop artist Tegan Koster continues her hyper-driven journey of new music, new contexts and new sounds.

Part ethereal songstress, part performance brat, part 70's space drama, a TKP show draws you in for a future-classic ride like no other.

Driving her ongoing music vehicle Tegan Koster Project, plus select music, performance and video collaborations and a host of future projects.

< Tegan Koster Project >

The live TKP show has evolved into a one-person band, with Tegan deploying a range of instruments and devices, including: Yamaha DX7, Roland D50, various drum machines, Bass & Lead Guitars, Vocals and Ableton.

A true sonic and performative journey, through a haze of synth pop,

avant groove and electronica.

Tegan is working towards her debut L.P. 'Tegan Rules The World '95',

for release in 2026.

< Stage Collaborations - Nachita Nights >

Recent stage collaborations including performing a number of cabaret tracks as part of Buenos Nachos Productions show 'Nachita Nights'.

The show was performed at NAFA Festival (Townsville) in November 2025 (pic), following a debut season as part of Cairns Festival in September 2025.

< Stage Collaborations - Amajayus >

In 2024, Tegan collaborated with First Nations queer comedian Jay Wymarra

on their new show 'Amajayus', which premiered at

Melbourne International Comedy Festival in March 2024, and was also part of Sydney Comedy Festival.

Tegan composed a number of tracks with Jay for the 'queer, feral musical', through a dedicated creative development studio process.

A remount is under discussion for 2026.

< Music Collaborations - The Pad Boys >

Tegan is a member of seminal Kuranda Djabugay band The Pad Boys.

Joining the group in 2022, Tegan's keyboard and synth prowess has added colourful dynamics to the bands iconic roots/reggae/groove sound.

The band will be recording new works in 2026.

< Music Collaborations - The Golden Brown >

Tegan plays bass guitar, alongside seminal punk drummer Rob Eakin,  in the new '5Five' house blues band The Golden Brown.

Led by avant blues brat Slim Deal, and the quirky guitar stylings of

Torres Strait guitar slinger Fletcher 'Greasy Hands' Glover, The Golden Brown play a dirty low down set of blues classics, and self-drawn boogies with a distinct 'deep north' style.

< Projects - Tegan Rules The World '95 >

In 2026, Tegan will undertake a dedicated creative and musical development of her debut LP "Tegan Koster Rules The World '95".

Drawing from her diverse experience of synth-pop, musical and stage collaboration, and avant-garde sonic explorations, Tegan aims to create space for a range of guest collaborations, performance interactions and media outputs.

The title references a piece of concrete 'graffiti', that she marked in her regional Qld home town of the time, Emerald (in Central Qld), in 1995,

and revisited in 2025.

< Projects - Shapes >

In 2023 Tegan undertook the creative development of her project 'Shapes'.

This project enabled the development of a new body of works, including 3 screen/musical works that were exhibited as part of

The 5Five Presents group show 'other',

at Northsite Contemporary Arts.

'Shapes' was supported through the Cairns RADF Arts Program.

< Projects - THE TKP SYNTH HOUR >

IT'S 2020-2021 - The 3-part series: 'Synth Hour' _ audio/screen homages to early synthesis, and our guru Dean Friedman.

The 3-part series explores my growing collection of vintage synths and gear, and over a period of time, I directed, wrote and produced 3 dedicated screen/audio works to this series.

Originally only posted on *Insta (lol), but here's a link to the 3 works on Vimeo.
